At Higher Love Ceremonies, I create bespoke, upbeat ceremonies that reflect you and your story.
Think about a very 'standard' wedding, we’ve all been to them, you know the ones – where it’s all very civilised and lovely but actually… honestly… you’re trying to remember what you ordered for dinner and wondering when the canapes are coming out! And whether the warm-up drinks were a good idea…
It is my utter pleasure and now my life’s work to ensure that your ceremony absolutely WOWs your guests, so that dinner is the last thing on anyone’s mind! And Great Uncle Steve might even stay awake.
Kath always gives you her time, listens to you with interest and you feel like you have a friend instantly after a brief chat. Her smile lights up a room and is very infectious! We will be using Kath to be our celebrant for all our services in the future.

You as a couple are at the heart of everything - and why wouldn't you be? Working together on the lead up to your big day, we will create a fabulous and totally unique wedding ceremony that tells your love story.

We will chat - many times. I'll be beavering away behind the scenes for some time, crafting your wedding ceremony script. You will have the opportunity to edit and tweak the wording until it's perfect for you. By the time your wedding rolls around you will have a totally unique ceremony that tells your story to a tee.
Upbeat and fun.
Bringing the atmosphere and getting your faves involved is one of the joys of the job.
Carefully crafted
You have the option to include a beautifully meaningful symbolic ritual to really make things pop - ask me for about the following ideas or bring your own to the table. We can do handfasting, a unity candle ritual, a sand ceremony, wine ceremony, readings, songs, poems, shots (!), include elements of faith and religion if you choose. We throw out the wedding rule book and do things your way.
Emotional yet uplifting
We love to make guests cry-snort-laugh so they don't know WHAT'S going on. It'll be detailed, light, and full of, well, YOU.
Creating core memories
Creating memorable moments is the aim of the game and I can’t wait to meet you and get going! Herein lies your happy ever after!

The joy of working with a celebrant is that you are in the driving seat, and you will have a very reliable navigator to shout directions (that’s me).
You can include (or exclude) whatever you want and your ceremony will have your stamp all over it.

Ceremony Package - £650
We’ll be very well acquainted before the day is out – pretty much old pals. Your story won’t tell itself after all! For your hard-earned cash, you’ll get:
• Time together to get to know each other, either face to face or online (geography depending!) I'll ask a few questions, you'll share your story. Try to remember any little anecdotes, funny stories or details that'll raise a smile and a chuckle. I'll be sure to weave them into your ceremony!
• A little homework in the form of a questionnaire (it’s all about compiling the details that will make your ceremony shine!)
• Support in writing your vows and/or choosing readings
• Support in choosing those beautiful inclusive elements, e.g. unity candle, sand ceremony, handfasting, inclusion of dog/donkey/parrot/micropig etc.
• Lots of checking in with chats before the big day
• The opportunity to read and amend your ceremony script. I’ll tweak it until you’re totally happy with it
• A bespoke, uplifting ceremony that I will write and deliver in person (obvs) on your wedding day (depending on location, I may need to charge travel costs but we’ll figure that out together)
• A wedding certificate to sign on the day, if you would like one
• A presentation copy of your script
• A little surprise gift! No spoilers

If you think the grown-ups may fancy a bit of adult playtime with the bar, I have a plethora of fully qualified, DBS checked professional childcare practitioners available to entertain the smalls. Ask me for more details – packages vary!
MC (Master of Ceremonies – sadly, not the universe)

Why not keep me around for the day to shifty everyone about to wherever they need to be? I promise to control my teacher voice and I will get the job done with a big ol’ smile and a few jokes along the way.
I'm a big fan of games and fun - happy to MC the Mr and Mrs quiz or the unexpected touches you might have in mind!I’ll bring the good vibes and get the party started. And if anyone mucks up their speech, rest assured I will roast them for it. 😊

Ok, time to toot my own horn.
In short: I love doing this, which means I care. When you book me, you get me - all in. I will do everything you can imagine (within reason – steady on!) to create a perfect ceremony that encapsulates you as a couple.

Other things handy to know:
• I live in Kent with my husband since 2011, Chris. I’m a mum of two little ones and an ex-teacher of little people.
• I love kids and the weird, inappropriate things they tend to come out with. I adore the element of fun, naivety and nerve-jangling unreliability only they can bring to a public event. Bring it on kiddos.
• Animals = family to me. My cockerpoo/beagle, Obi, is the love of my life (apologies husband). He’d have been my bridesdog… or hound of honour or something. I was personally outraged not to arrive at my own wedding on horseback and that an owl failed to deliver my rings. I'm still sore about it to this day.
I’m also a fool, as it’s been said by the wise since the dawn of time – never work with children or animals… and here I am encouraging you to include every Tom, Dick and Harry!
What I actually mean is that I truly believe in the power of choice and the value to be found in individuality. Do things your way – bring your higher love; show it off and have the day you have always dreamed of.

Why choose an independent celebrant?
• We will know each other before your wedding day and you should feel more at ease knowing who I am and what I’m about. It’s better than whiskey for the nerves, I promise!
• Your ceremony will be yours, and no-one else’s. As Mcfly (all hail) sang, it’s all aboouut youuu. Your bespoke ceremony will not be a tired old script that has been parroted by millions before you.
• The rules are, there are no rules. We are entirely unrestricted - the sky’s the limit!
You’ve got the freedom to hold your ceremony wherever you want, not just inside a licenced venue.
• Perhaps you married abroad and want to celebrate with your homies? This is a great way to do it.
• If you want to include some religious references or spiritual elements, I’m down with that. I respect that some couples might want a cultural or religious nod on the big day. A registrar can’t do that. Or be in a room with wedding food or alcohol (who knew?)
Is it legally binding?
No. A celebrant led ceremony is not legally binding. You’ll need to do the legals before or after, with a registrar for as little as £50 and 2 witnesses.
Think of it like buying a house: you celebrate on the day you get the keys and pop the champers! Not the day your solicitor tells you that the deeds are now in your name.
Do you offer same sex/LGBTQ+ ceremonies?
Er, 100% YES. Stephen Fry said it pretty well –
“The most important thing is love… It must be understood that love comes first.”
